How to use Green House Powder Feeding:

Since the early 2000’s, world renown Dutch seed bank, Green House Seed Company have been researching and developing an easy to use, single component plant feeding solution.

Unlike most fertilizer brands which requires combining a line of fertilizers together to achieve complete nutrient ratios, Green House Feeding have created an all in one powdered mineral fertilizer, containing all of the macro and micro nutrients for full growth cycles, targeting specific strain types, allowing for a single component feeding solution for the entire crop, no other nutrients necessary, unless “soft” reverse osmosis or rain water is used, or a late flowering nutrient booster is required.

Green House Feeding can be used in Hydroponics, Coco and Soil and has seen the same outstanding results across all applications.

Soil use

If used on pre fertilized “amended” Soil mixes, it is advised to start feeding 2 -4 weeks after planting, beginning at a dose of 0.25 g per litre of water, as the full vegetative growth stage develops the dosage needs to be increased to 0.5 g/l, and once flower development advances, slowly increase to 1.0 g per litre. This is a beginners, amended soil mix feeding cycle, and many have seen steady results using these ratios. In Soil feed at every other watering.

Hydroponic use

In Coco and Hydroponic systems the average “go to” dosage is 1.0 g/l. However it is highly advised to follow the feeding protocols supplied for each formula, also to use pH and EC water quality meters to optimize nutrient and pH levels for your crops specific needs and ideal nutrient assimilation. It is also advised to check that no signs of over-fertilization occur and if so, dosages should be noted and adjusted accordingly. In Coco – feed at every watering and flush once a week. In Hydro – feed at every watering.

Mixing Nutrients

Mixing nutrients should be done at a temperature of 18-22°C. pH and EC readings need to be checked prior to mixing to determine if calcium is to be added.

1. Nutrients are added and mixed for 2-3 min and the EC is checked again. Nutrients are added, mixed and checked until desired EC/ppm ratios are met.

2. Once required EC levels are achieved, the solution will need to stand for 15-30 min before pH levels are measured and adjusted.

3. Measure pH and if necessary adjust with pH UP or DOWN. Mix for 2-3 min, wait 15-30 min before measuring pH again. Repeat pH adjustment process if necessary.

4. Once desired pH levels are achieved, plants can be fed.

Green House Feeding suggests the following pH levels:

  • Soil – pH 6.0-7.0
  • Hydroponics/Coco – pH 5.5-6.5
  • Foliar feed – pH 5.5-6.5 at 0.5g/l (vegetative growth stage only)

Mixed nutrient solutions can be kept for up to 10 days in light tight reservoirs and re-circulating hydroponic systems. In Hydro systems EC and pH levels must be checked daily and additional nutrients and water should be added in the correct ratios as required.

Grow formula provides optimum development throughout the vegetative stage of growth to obtain strong, green, disease resistant plants, and is ideal for stimulating root development in seedlings and cuttings through to full vegetative growth. This fertilizer is ideal for mother plants and plants that are in the vegetative growth stage for long periods of time. Growers who would like to focus on keeping Mother plants and cuttings, or focus only on growth can follow the Library regiment, this is for genetic library purposes with plants that are kept for extended periods of time at a slow growth pace.

Calcium

Calcium (Ca)…. 9.7% chelated calcium additive is used with any green house powder feeding calciumwater supply starting with EC-0.0 and also tap water that is too soft and requires additional calcium. The correct levels of calcium prevents and corrects nutrient deficiencies, which is caused by the lack of calcium assimilated by plants.

Calcium levels should be corrected before base Nutrients are dissolved. If R/O water or Rain water (EC-0.0) is used, it is advised to add calcium in the following ratios:

  • Seedling – 0.3 g/l
  • Growth – 0.8 – 1.0 g/l
  • Flowering – 1.0 g/l
  • Last 3 weeks – 1.5 g/l

0.5 g of Calcium = EC-0.2 from EC-0.0

1.0 g of Calcium = EC-0.4 from EC-0.0

If Tap water is used, the salt content of the water must be tested to see if calcium levels are sufficient, the following ratios are the average recommendations for adding calcium to tap water and does not accurately measure water hardness, this can be easily obtained by contacting your local water works department. EC/ppm readings should be monitored while adding calcium to tap water, and should be adjusted according to stages of growth, when using tap water it is advised to add calcium in the following ratios:

  • <70 ppm – 0.8-1.0 g/l
  • 71-150 ppm – 0.5-0.8 g/l
  • 151-250 ppm – 0.1-0.5 g/l
  • >251 ppm – no calcium should be added

Foliar feed 0.5 g of Calcium = EC-0.2 from EC-0.0 apply after watering at low light intensity

Booster (0 – 30 – 27 PK+) additive is especially formulated to provide the correct amounts of Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium and micro-nutrients in order to increase flower and fruit production. If added to R/O or rain water, this booster must be used with a chelated Calcium additive only as it already contains extra amounts of Magnesium but no calcium, and an excess amount of magnesium will block the uptake of other nutrients. If tap water is used, make sure that it does not contain excessive salts, start with a dose of 0.2 g/L and work up the dose gradually to a maximum of 0.5 g/L, checking that no signs of over-fertilization occur. For R/O and Rain water it is advised to add booster in the following doses:

  • Week 3 & 4 – 2 – 3 g/10 L
  • Week 5 & 6 – 3 – 4 g/10 L
  • Week 7 & 8 – 4 – 5 g/10 L

Water, Calcium and base nutrients should not be higher than EC-1.3 prior to adding these doses, When used in Soil, feed with every other watering. When used in Coco flush once a week and in Hydroponics feed with every watering and flush with plain water for the last week of flowering.

 

Green House Powder Feeding has been specially formulated for the type of plants in cultivation and contains a mixture of high quality minerals in the perfect ratios for healthy, consistent plant growth. The minerals used cannot be considered organic due to them not containing any living organisms, however this does not mean that all of the minerals used are chemically produced. Green House Feeding contains a combination of minerals derived from natural rock, and from chemical synthesis.
